ARTIST STATMENT

​ ​ Building off of photographs, memories, and feelings that have personal meaning to me, I am able to create paintings that display a set of emotions deeply associated with my experiences. Since the concept of nature is infused within all my paintings, I am able to ground the theme of my work. Exploring the beauty of nature impacts my paintings as I feel I am able to express myself more vividly in the types of brush work and colour I use. By exploring these formal elements more freely, I feel that the joy and passion I have for painting comes through onto the canvas. I am able to find different techniques to create a painting that evokes feeling through the nature of creating the painting rather than just the content its self.
