The Remanence

Using glass panels and magazine clippings, this work focuses on the ever growing problem of global warming specifically in the arctic. Layering large and small glass shards within the magazine clippings emphasizes the depth of this global issue, as well as how substantial issues can be covered up or hidden within the layers of society. Cutting most of the glass pieces into small shapes puts emphasis on the melting glaciers and the lack of sea ice in Antarctica making it difficult for animals to survive and hunt in the oceans, as well as effecting our sea levels and weather patterns.
